Dancersize! The benefits? Fun, improved memory, aerobic workout and social contact – can’t beat that! What can we lose, well maybe a couple pounds and some stagnation?
Have you tried NIA yet? Created in 1983, NIA is a combo of yoga, martial arts and modern dance. It spread quickly as either low impact or high-powdered movements, depending on the leader’s style. It’s easy and it’s fun.
NIA classes are way more available and affordable than they were even 10 years ago. Some local community centres now offer NIA classes for a joyful hour of creative dance.
We really have no excuse when there’s a dance form for every age. It’s the low impact dance for many of us, but it’s still a fun workout you can feel a difference from. If you’re up for more vigorous forms, the blended zumba or faster salsa classes have gained lots of attention.

So, I have to admit, the social encouragement of a group with a live dance leader makes the difference.

We all know health is about pleasure. So don’t forget to dance!
