Full-body Swedish Massage Workshop
You and a partner will learn how to safely and effectively give a beneficial massage without straining your own body! Easy assimilate of the material occurs by practising the techniques on each other. This workshop targets those who want to learn how to help their partner relax after a stressful day or those who would considering more in-depth studies.
Drawing from my experience as a former Instructor at Toronto’s Transformational Arts College, the day combines both classroom instruction as a licensed RMT and demonstration before you begin hands-on work. We will cover:
- Correct posture while giving a massage to avoid straining your body
- Sequence of movements complementary to body function
- Proper Swedish massage techniques
- Effective application
- Precautions and safety tips
- Sample massage routine
- Suppliers for materials and tables
Emphasis will be on practicing techniques for hands-on learning, with guidance as required. No experience is necessary. A workshop is limited to 2 people to allow for adequate guidance during practice. Classes are conducted with utmost privacy and respect. Equipment, sheets and oils are provided.
The workshops are usually held on the weekend to accommodate busy schedules, but may be adjusted.
- Time: 10 am to 3:30 pm with 1/2 hour for lunch
- When: usually on a Sunday unless other arrangements are made
- Where: to be announced upon my return to Canada, but in the Toronto Greater Area
- Cost: $300 for 1-day workshop (5-hours) per couple or 2 friends at $150 per person
What should you bring? Please bring a light lunch or snack for your ½-hour break. Water and herbal teas are provided. Notes on the material covered are included in for home referral.
While ideal for couples, other pairs are more than welcome. Minimum age to participate is 16.
